As Secretary, Officer Jennifer Valdes is responsible for ensuring that an accurate mailing list of the general membership is maintained, ensuring the accurate minutes and maintaining accurate records of all Association meetings and ensuring the timely submission of all non-financial reports as required by County, State and Federal laws.

Jennifer was hired by the MDPD in December 2001. She started her career as a uniform patrol officer in the former MDPD Carol City District, where she also became an investigator. Jennifer spent six years in the former Carol City District before being assigned to the Domestic Crimes Unit of the MDPD Special Victims Bureau, where she spent eight years investigating cases of domestic violence throughout Miami-Dade County.

In June of 2015, Jennifer joined the Media Relations Section of the Public Information and Education Bureau. In 2017, Jennifer was elected to the PBA Board of Directors and most recently, in 2021 appointed to the position of Secretary of the Executive Board. Jennifer is currently assigned to the Community Affairs Bureau.
