About Us
Who We Are
Established in 1963, the SFLPBA represents over 7,000 law enforcement and corrections officers across South Florida. We advocate for fair representation, uphold constitutional rights, and provide exceptional benefits to our members.
Our History
From our origins as the Dade County Police Benevolent Association, we’ve grown into a powerful voice for law enforcement, securing collective bargaining rights and influencing legislation to protect officers’ rights.

About the Love Fund
Established in 1984, the Love Fund is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization created to provide urgent financial and emotional assistance to officers and their families when no other support is available.
We help in times of deepest need:
- Funerals for officers killed in the line of duty
- Education for the children of fallen officers
- Psychological counseling for officers and their families facing job-related stress
- Emergency relief for illness, home damage, or PTSD
- Assistance in any crisis that threatens an officer’s ability to serve
How the Love Fund Works
The Love Fund is supported by SFLPBA special events and generous outside contributions.
As a federally recognized charitable organization, all donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Florida PBA Heart Fund
A 501(c)(3) charity supporting families of fallen officers and those permanently disabled in the line of duty.
- Provides financial assistance to families and disabled officers
- 100% tax-deductible donations
- Funded by contributions and special initiatives
- $20 from every “Support Law Enforcement” license plate goes directly to the Heart Fund
