Alex Munoz

Treasurer

As Sergeant-At-Arms, Alejandro “Alex” Muñoz is responsible for keeping order at all South Florida PBA meetings and events.

Alex began his career in 2005 with the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department. He worked with Maximum Security Inmates at the Pretrial Detention Center, he then continued to expand his career by working in headquarters at the Personnel Management Bureau (PMB).
While assigned to PMB, Alex was assigned to the Backgrounds and Recruitment Unit. While in headquarters, he obtained his Instructor certification and became an Instructor for new correctional officer trainees and in-service training.

In 2015, Alex applied with the Miami-Dade Police Department where he joined BLE 112. Once graduated, Alex was assigned to the Hammocks District where he worked uniform patrol until given the opportunity to work with the Community Oriented Policing Unit (C.O.P.S.). He was then part of the motorcycle training which led him to become Motor 802. While assigned to the District Motors Unit, Alex enjoyed the community outreach part of his job. That enjoyment for community engagement led him to work with the Neighborhood Resource Unit.

Alex has been a PBA member since he started his career and became a PBA representative while he was employed with Corrections. He then got promoted to Director which allowed him the opportunity to serve our members. He has volunteered in numerous events, even representing the Union’s members at the state capitol as new laws come into effect. He now joins the Executive Board of Directors as the Sergeant-at-Arms.
