As Secretary of the South Florida PBA, Officer Jennifer Valdes ensures accurate maintenance of the membership mailing list, precise meeting minutes, proper recordkeeping for all association meetings, and the timely submission of all required non-financial reports in compliance with County, State, and Federal laws. Elected to the PBA Board of Directors in 2017 and appointed Secretary of the Executive Board in 2021, Jennifer brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role.
Work Experience
- December 2001 – Joined the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD).
- Served as a uniform patrol officer in the former MDPD Carol City District, later becoming an investigator.
- 6 years – Carol City District.
- 8 years – Investigator, Domestic Crimes Unit, MDPD Special Victims Bureau (domestic violence cases countywide).
- June 2015 – Joined the Media Relations Section, Public Information and Education Bureau.
- 2017 – Elected to the PBA Board of Directors.
- 2021 – Appointed Secretary, Executive Board, South Florida PBA.
- Currently assigned to the Community Affairs Bureau.
