As Executive Vice President, John A. Jenkins is second in command for all South Florida PBA operations, members, and initiatives. In the organization’s 55-year history, he is both proud and honored to be the first African American elected to the position of Executive Vice President.
Joining the Miami-Dade Police Department in 1996, Jenkins currently holds the rank of Police Lieutenant. Throughout his 23 years of service, he has served in various districts and capacities, including: Miami Lakes, Northside, South, Public Corruption, Domestic Crimes, Child Exploitation, Homeland Security, and Media Relations. He has served on the South Florida PBA Board of Directors for more than 15 years.
Jenkins graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University, followed by a Master of Science in Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. He served in the United States Coast Guard and is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police, Two Hundred Club of Greater Miami, 5000 Role Models, and 100 Black Men of South Florida, Inc.
