As Treasurer, Jermaine Lawson oversees all the South Florida PBA’s financial assets.
His experience makes him a perfect fit for this role. Lawson served in the United States Navy before becoming a Miami-Dade County Corrections & Rehabilitation officer in 2006. He has spent much of his law enforcement career working his way up the ranks—first as Unit Manager and later as supervisor, after being promoted to Corrections Corporal position. As a corporal, he was assigned to the Intake and Release Bureau before moving to the Mental Health Unit at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. As a Sergeant, he was assigned to the Mental Health Treatment Center and remained there until his appointment to his position here at the PBA. He joined the South Florida PBA as a Municipal Representative in 2011 and was elected as Director in 2017. He was previously appointed as Sergeant-At-Arms in 2021.
